Weekly Premier
Official rules
How the Weekly Premier and Gamavas Coins work: entering, upvoting, scoring, awards and fair play.
1. Draft
These rules are a draft and are not yet in force. They will be reviewed before the Weekly Premier launches publicly. Rules version: draft-2026-10.
2. Sponsor
The Weekly Premier is run by Gamavas (gamavas.fun). [Sponsor entity, address and registration to be confirmed.] Questions: privacy@gamavas.fun.
3. How the Premier works
- Each Premier runs for one week, from Monday 00:00 UTC to Sunday 23:59:59 UTC. Results are confirmed on the Monday after it closes.
- Makers enter games they made and host on Gamavas. Entering is always free, and a free entry can win.
- To enter, a maker must be able to receive payouts from Gamavas, which is available in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda. More countries will follow.
- Players upvote entered games with Gamavas Coins, at least 200 coins at a time. A game needs at least 10 different signed-in players before it can be upvoted.
- A game's score is the square of the sum of the square roots of each backer's total coins. This rewards many backers over a few large ones. Ties go to the game with more backers, then to the earlier entry.
- In the final 6 hours, ranks are hidden and the top games are listed in alphabetical order.
4. No purchase necessary
You never need to buy anything to take part. Every active player can claim 200 coins free each week, enough for one upvote, and free coins count toward a game's score exactly like bought ones. Makers can enter for free.
5. Launch boosts
A maker may spend coins on one optional launch boost per game per Premier. It gives a starting score (counted as one backer, capped at 1,000 coins) and promotional perks. Launch boosts are Gamavas revenue: they do not add to the prize pool and do not create any payout.
6. Platform awards and revenue share
Gamavas pays the makers of the top 3 games a platform award from the prize pool, split 50% to 1st, 30% to 2nd, 20% to 3rd. The pool is funded by Gamavas: 25% of the net value of purchased coins used in fan upvotes. On special Premiers, announced on the Premier page, Gamavas also matches that amount, with at least $50 and at most $250.
Only games that at least one player backed with an upvote can place: a game with no backers (or only its own launch boost) wins no award, badge or featured spot. Places nobody fills go unawarded.
Separately, when fans upvote a game with coins they bought, Gamavas pays the game's maker a creator revenue share of 50% of what those coins brought in (the amount paid, less payment processing fees), whether or not the game wins.
Awards and revenue shares are paid by Gamavas to makers after a holding period of 10 days, or 30 days for the share of a single backing worth $500 or more. They may be reduced if a payment is refunded or charged back. Recipients are responsible for their own taxes. [Payout methods, eligibility and tax forms to be confirmed.]
Players who only upvote never receive cash.
7. Gamavas Coins
- Coins can only be used to upvote games in the Weekly Premier. They have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money, and can't be sent to another player.
- Coins can be bought (200 coins = $2), earned by converting XP from playing games on Gamavas, or claimed free each week. You must be at least 18 to buy coins.
- Bought coins don't expire. Earned coins expire after 60 days. We will always tell you before any coins expire.
- Unspent bought coins can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Spent coins can't be refunded.
- If a coin purchase is charged back, we take the coins back. If they were already spent, the upvotes they paid for are cancelled, and the account may be frozen.
8. Fair play
One person, one account. Upvotes from accounts that show they belong to real players count fully: players who play games on Gamavas, link a gaming or social account, verify their email and come back on different days. Brand-new or unverified accounts still count, but less, until they do. This applies the same to free and bought coins; paying more never changes how much an account counts.
We review suspicious activity, such as several accounts upvoting from the same device and network, or paying with the same bank account, and we may count them as one person, exclude upvotes, disqualify entries or close accounts that break these rules. Excluded upvotes are returned as coins. New accounts can buy a limited amount of coins per day until they're established.
9. Where the Premier is available
Makers can enter, and be paid, from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda. Players can back games from anywhere, though coin purchases may be unavailable in some countries. [List of excluded jurisdictions to be confirmed.] Void where prohibited.
10. Changes
We may update these rules. Changes don't affect a Premier that is already running. Makers accept the current version each time they enter.
